Well the past half hour Kilo has been getting up and moving around though still very wobbly and weak. He started drinking on his own but drank too much too fast and vomited it back up. He heard me getting bones out to make bone broth and was waiting for me at the top of the stairs. Mentally he wants to eat but still feeling sick.

He wanted to go lay in the grass outside but we are keeping all animals in while conservation officers come out to deal with the bear. They think it’s hanging around. It ate poor Turners neck and tried to carry him over the fence 😞 sounds like it was quite gory. My poor neighbours. I hope Marari is ok it must have been traumatizing, he is in the field right next to the minis.

Meanwhile Myrrah and Kona went nuts barking and I look outside to see a deer wandering across our lawn 🙄 casually grazing with another deer. I got some pics at least 🤷‍♀️

He passed away about half an hour after I posted this. I was laying in bed with him resting on the floor and I was keeping an eye on his breathing. My mom and sister had just gotten home from being at the neighbours but when I passed by Kilo to go talk to them I noticed him breath weird and his head was resting awkwardly on the floor so I adjusted his head and checked his gums and just sat with him. His tongue and gums were turning pale. He was taking sort of delayed, awkward breaths so I held him and my sister and mom came down. I knew what was happening the way he was breathing. It happened quite quick. He would sometimes give a breath, and I’d think he was gone, and then moments later he’d breathe again. My sister could feel a femoral pulse right until the end. He was so weak though at this point. It was hard to know exactly when he passed. But it seemed to happen so suddenly since he’d been walking around and wanting to drink. I really thought he was going to recover from this bleed.

Even knowing that it’s coming and trying to be prepared it’s such a shock 🙁
